Three our most widely used acrylic plastic cements, Weld-On® 3, 4, and 16, have now been reformulated without methylene chloride (DCM) or trichloroethylene (TCE). This change reflects Weld-On’s commitment to creating safer and more reliable products for our customers. The updated
formulas deliver the same strength, clarity, and cure times that professionals have trusted for years. At Weld-On, we do more than meet industry standards.
Why the Change Was Needed
New EPA and VOC regulations have placed restrictions on the use of DCM and TCE due to health and safety concerns. These chemicals have been linked to long-term health risks, especially in enclosed or poorly ventilated environments. Instead of waiting for deadlines to take effect, we moved forward with safer alternatives. Our goal was to protect users, stay ahead of compliance requirements, and avoid disrupting your workflow.
What This Means for You
The DCM / TCE Free Weld-On 3, 4, and 16 will replace the existing formulas. The updated formulas provide the same bond strength, clarity, and cure times you rely on. There is no need to change your application process, and you benefit from a safer solution. Please note that the Weld-On® 4SC line has been discontinued. There is no replacement for this product.
